Venomcore, Gothic Spiky Sodalite Necklace

A sodalite pulsing with electric blues and shadowy veins, has been sealed in molten solder. Downward spikes drip from the top and bottom like venom ---- as if the stone itself bleeds its bite. Venomcore is more than a name.

Q&A

Q: these spikes hurt?

A:We’re risky and dangerous! Just kidding... kinda. I just love the raw edge and uncompromising vibe of soldered jewelry -- and maybe you do too. That’s why we keep some spikes sharp on purpose. If it feels too sharp, you can easily smooth it down with the polishing stick we include, or go DIY with a soldering iron or file. C’mon, a true solder alchemist should know a thing or two about custom work, right?

Q:Are they handmade? Will I get exactly the piece in the photo?

A:Emmm... I don’t think any robot could make this, honestly. Every piece is handmade, which means each one is different. Soldering is an art of liquid metal, ruled by freedom and chance. Even I can’t fully recreate my own work. So no, what you get might not be the exact one in the photo, especially since I use a lot of natural materials -- I can’t find two identical shells or crystals. But don’t worry -- the size and overall design will be the same. The soul is just... uniquely yours.

Q: Can soldered jewelry touch water? Will it oxidize? Can it get wet?

A:Yes, totally fine.

Q: Will the solder oxidize?

A:It might -- a little. But nothing serious. Most of the oxidation actually happens during the making process due to the high heat. After that, it’s pretty stable (Think about solder on a circuit board -- it doesn’t rust like iron, right?). What does happen is a thin oxidation layer might form on the surface. The color of the metal can fade slightly, and the metal might take on a soft whitish tone -- kind of antique. Some of my friends actually use chemicals to create that exact oxidized look on purpose. If that’s not your vibe, just rub it with the white side of the polishing stick we provide -- the layer comes right off. Very easy.

Q: Is soldered jewelry toxic? Is it safe to wear long‑term?

A:I’ve been soldering for years--if melted tin were poisonous, I'm already dead. Just kidding. Tin is actually extremely safe. Both U.S. and EU regulations even allow tin in food‑contact products. Yes, I was worried too, so I did my homework. Our solder wire is custom‑made and contains only tin, with a bit of silver and copper--all perfectly safe metals. That’s it, no other nasties.
Heads‑up for DIYers: Most off‑the‑shelf solder wire contains lead or rosin flux, which are TOXIC. Make sure your solder is lead‑free, flux‑free if you want to DIY. Otherwise, you are sacrificing your health for jewelry.

Q:Will soldered jewelry deform?

A:Although tin is softer than most metals, it is still metal, and normal wear won't deform it.
